Window Hardware Options

Due to the fact that CR Windows manufacture all of it’s on products we are able to source and purchase the highest security locking hardware in the market.

Our window handles are lockable espag handles and are available in a variety of finishes such as, white, gold, satin or bright chrome.

Our window locks have six high security locking points including two shootbolts and two multipoint locking claws. The locks use all six locking points when used in the ‘night vent’ position. This locking system is approved Secure by Design (SBD) and BSi and forms part of our own Secure by Design (SBD) manufactured window.

Our window hinges have also been tested and conform to Secure by Design standards and also to the British Standards Institute (BSI) BS 7950 security standard. This is also relevant to our egress hinges which allow the side opening window to open to a full 90 degrees thus allowing a full unobstructed fire escape route in an emergency. The egress hinges also allow for easy cleaning since you can place your arm between the frame and opening sash enabling you to clean the outside of the window from the inside. There are no confusing buttons to press or pull, just open, slide clean and close.

We can also install ‘child restrictors’ on your windows. These restrictors are not security restrictors but they do stop your window from being opened fully by ‘small hands’. The window can be opened up to approx. 3 inches (75mm) then the restrictor will stop it from opening fully unless it is disengaged manually.

These restrictors are not a permanent fixture as they can be easily removed if they are not required in the future.
